From tiny plants to fluffy plumes: The story behind our pampas

When you buy pampas plumes from us , you're not only bringing a beautiful decoration into your home, but also a piece of passion, craftsmanship, and family history. Behind every plume you put in a vase with us is a story that began in 2019—on a piece of land and with a big dream.

How it all started: the search for the right pampas plant

In 2019, we encountered our first pampas plants. But not just any species—we've done extensive research on the many Cortaderia varieties that exist. And that's a big deal.

After months of testing and comparing, we chose one special variety: Cortaderia Selloana Senior .

Why this species?

  • produces strong, thick and fluffy plumes

  • perfectly suited to our Dutch climate

  • produces a full, reliable harvest every year

  • color and structure remain beautiful during drying

A choice we are still pursuing — because year after year, harvest after harvest, those plants bear fruit.

✂️ Harvest: our favorite time of the year

Every year in mid- September , the time comes: the plumes reach their full, soft shape. That's when we meet the hand harvesters . No machines, no mass production. Just pure attention, plant by plant.

Only then can we ensure the highest quality pampas safely.

A small, close-knit family business

Our company is run by two brothers and a brother-in-law , with backgrounds in agriculture and flower export. We work with a small team—and we love it. This allows us to maintain control over quality, craftsmanship, and personal attention.

We soon notice that:

  • the demand for pampas plumes increased enormously ,

  • while the supply was small and variable.

We've embraced this. And with success: our field continues to expand every year, and the plumes become more beautiful, fuller, and more popular.

Drying the pampas: craftsmanship

Although we do almost everything ourselves, we invest in one part: the drying process .
